Marie Claire Sustainability Award 2024

Marie Claire Sustainability Award 2024

We are delighted to be the highly commended winner of the 2024 Marie Claire Sustainability Awards.

Sustainability is nothing new for our founder Tina Marie Malhamé. Since day one, ethical trading and kindness remains in the very heart of her ethos. From her early days as a designer for Monsoon, Anohki, and several other well-known brands, she saw first hand the struggles of communities, as they made their living working with skilful hands and artists eyes, in crafts passed down over many generations. Weather conditions made a huge impact on that day's output. Fabrics could not be woven or printed and garments could not be stitched if the sun was too hot, the day too cold or damp, or too wet during the monsoon season. Working with her beloved manufacturing teams, Tina saw first hand how problems can be overcome with thought and care, laying solid foundations for the rest of her career.

Understanding how long hours of work impacted family life and health, gave Tina the impetus to insist on fair wages, fair working hours and safe and clean working conditions. All non-negotiable.

It was at this stage in 2006, she decided to launch a conscious, luxury fashion brand of colourful well-fitting, stylish dresses, alongside her belief that our actions, however small, impact planet and people.

Strong ethics mean NoLoGo-Chic partner up only with ethical suppliers, using the best sustainable materials for Tina's unique designs.

In a career lasting several decades Tina continues to spread the word to her customers that they too are part of the journey in ethical and sustainable fashion, investing in pieces that are made to the highest quality and loved for many years of wearing. Many happy memories are made whilst wearing a NoLoGo-Chic dress.

Tina has many accolades for clothes design, including;

The Christian Lacroix prize for design
The International Linen Secretariat Award for design in Linen
The Per Una award for Design Innovation
The Southern England Enterprise Award in 2022, given for the most inclusive global brand and ethical designer of the year.

The brand has come a along way over the years, producing beautiful clothing whilst quietly doing its part for the planet and for those who work together with us on our collections. Weavers, printers, embroiderers and the teams supporting these crafts, each as important as the other. NoLoGo-Chic simply wouldn't exist without their dedication to producing our beautiful, unique, ethically made clothes.

We are aware that our actions are not always perfect, and we still have some way to go before we are 100% sustainable. The aim is to be the best. The finest ethics shared with each other, in kindness, respect and consideration, bringing smiles and joy along the way. The utmost ethics in caring for our beautiful planet and reminding ourselves each day just how lucky we are to even have had this opportunity to exist right here, right now.
